Bankruptcies Drop in September, 2006.
The latest bankruptcy statistics for September, 2006 were released on the internet by Industry Canada on November 3, 2006.
Consumer bankruptcies fell 8.4% (6,571/7,171);
Business bankruptcies fell 13.6% (501/580);
Proposals rose 13.1% (1,774/1,569);
Overall, Insolvencies fell 5.1% (8,846/9,328).
Year to date:
Consumer bankruptcies were down 6.5%
Business bankruptcy were down 11.7%
Proposals were up 4.7%
Total insolvencies were down 4.9%.
